“My philosophy of care is that everyone is a unique person. I strive to assist them on their journey of self-discovery towards a happier and healthier active lifestyle."
While in massage school, I was introduced to many different types of treatment modalities to relax and relieve stress and pain. I was searching for something new that would help clients that weren’t able to get pain relief from tradition health modalities. I had been dealing with pain issues such as TMJ and various body aches since college. I wanted to work with a holistic, natural way of freeing myself from pain.
In 1988 I arrived at the John Barnes Myofascial release series. I received so much relief of my pain symptoms, both physically and emotionally, during that seminar series. I knew at that time this was “the missing link”. This is the type of therapy I want to share with others. This type of therapy makes sense. A few years later I added to my education Upledger’s Craniosacral therapy’ style of techniques, which works with and compliments MFR well.
MFR and CST have given me the ability to enjoy, love, and embrace life to its fullest.
My personal belief is that wellness comes from freeing the fascia, self-treatment, follow a personally designed stretching/strengthening program all while embodying the mind/body connection."

What is Myofascial Release?
The John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) approach is safe, gentle, consistently effective in producing positive and lasting results. Myofascial Release (tm) is a very effective hands on technique which provides SUSTAINED pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and to restore motion. The theory of Myofascial Release (tm) requires an understanding of the fascial system ( or connective tissue.)
Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three dimensional web from head to toe without interruption. Trauma or inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, osseous structures and/or organs.
In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and wavy in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. When we experience physical trauma or inflammation, however, the fascia loses its flexibility. It becomes very tight, and can be a source of tension to the rest of the body.Trauma over time has a cumulative effect.
The goal of Myofascial Release (tm) is to restore the individual's freedom, so they may return to a pain free, active lifestyle.
What is CranioSacral
CranioSacral Therapy is a light-hands touch hands-on therapy addressing the restrictions in the CranioSacral system - the membranes and cerebral spinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The vital system extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.
Since the vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord, an imbalance or restriction in it could potentially cause any number of sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities. These problems could include chronic pain, eye difficulties, learning disabilities and other health challenges.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle method of detection and correction that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate these negative effects of stress on your central nervous system.
